The Netherlands Nationality Act, enacted on 1
January 1985, sets out the rules for determining who is entitled to
Dutch nationality, how to acquire it and how it can be lost.
The most significant amendment to the Act, introduced on 1 April 2003, affects former Dutch nationals and Dutch nationals living abroad.
On these pages you can find information about acquiring Dutch nationality, parenthood and nationality, civic integration, naturalisation and dual citizenship.
